Best Times Bobber Project
Have you ever wondered what it would be like being inside a fairytale? Have you ever wondered what things were like in a story characters point of view? Have you ever wanted to have fun and use your imagination to the most of its abilities? Well that’s what it’s like at The Enchanted Forest. Here’s what being inside of a fairytale amusement park felt like for me.
When I was about 10, I went to the Enchanted Forest in Turner, Oregon. My dad, step mom, younger brother, and I went to Oregon to visit my cousins. When we were on our way home, we stopped the car. I thought we were at a rest area or something and my dad told me we were at the Enchanted Forest. I had never been there so I asked what the Enchanted Forest was and he told me it was like a life sized storybook, like you were inside the fairy tales.
The Enchanted Forest is an amusement park, filled with attractions taken out of stories. There were so many attractions, I was overwhelmed with excitement. It was like I was inside all the fairy tales that I’d ever heard, and I was creating my own part in the story, I didn’t know what story to enter first. We decided to follow the trail on the left, and make a circle around the entire park. First, it started out with things like The Little Old Lady Who Lived in a Shoe. They made a giant shoe slide; they took a giant shoe and put a slide inside of it. Then it led on to The Rabbit Hole from Alice in Wonderland, The 7 Dwarves Cave where they mined, and The 3 Bears House from Goldilocks and the 3 Bears. They had so many things from fairy tales there it was like I got lost in my imagination.
My favorite parts though were the rides. They had awesome rides such as the Big Timber Log Ride, the Ice Mountain Ride, and a Wizard ride. The Wizard Ride was this ride where you sat in a little car thing and rode around on the track. While you were going around, you had to find all the targets and shoot as many as you could. At the end whoever had the highest score won. I went on that ride about 6 times. The Ice Mountain ride was a rollercoaster ride where one to three people sit in a little car and go around the track. At one point in the ride water was sprayed at you, and at a few other places in the ride, you turn to the side and flip upside down. It was a very fun ride that I went on about 3 times. My favorite ride however, was called the Big Timber Log Ride. It was a ride where three people get in a log and go through the track. And then at the end of the ride, the log you’re in goes down a hill and you get splashed at the bottom. I rode that ride about 4 times. At the end of the day I was soaked.
So now you know what being inside a fairytale amusement park felt like for me. It felt like being inside a life sized storybook, creating my own part in the story. Like my life was a fairytale. It felt like the real world didn’t exist.
